Most TermoLab and TermoPro products use temperature controllers from three manufacturers: TermoPro, ОВЕН, and OMRON.
TermoPro controllers are the most “marketable”, simplest, and cheapest (but not at the expense of quality). If there are no high requirements for the accuracy of setting and maintaining the temperature (and often qualified personnel) choose the TermoPro A10 regulator with a mechanical temperature set point adjuster, without indication of current temperature and with two-position regulation law. For higher requirements, we offer the TermoPro 611 microprocessor-based regulator. This device provides good accuracy and stability of PID regulation with the possibility of auto-tuning to the parameters of the product to be controlled. Digital display of current/setting temperature allows to control and set temperature in 1°C increment. The device is as simple and reliable in operation as possible, but has two “disadvantages” – it does not have a built-in timer and no possibility to connect to a computer.
If you need a built-in timer (to control exposure time, or set the program of heat treatment) and/or the ability to connect to a PC to configure the device and archive data, and you want to have a relatively easy-to-use and inexpensive device – look at the regulator TRM-251 firm Owen. Having all the advantages of the TermoPro 611 controller, it also allows you to store three heat treatment programs of five steps each (or one program up to 15 steps). Each step can be used to set the setpoint temperature, the time to reach the setpoint temperature (heating or cooling at the set rate), and the dwell time at the set temperature. The built-in RS485 interface makes it possible to connect this controller to a data logger (to record heat treatments on a memory card), or via an interface conversion unit to a PC.
If your process requires very precise temperature control to minimize temperature deviations or does not allow temperature overshoot during steady-state operation, such as microbiological research, drying of heat-sensitive materials, etc. – you cannot do without OMRON regulators. Here we offer two models.
The first is the model E5CC, which is functionally similar to the TermoPro 611, but has a built-in timer with the possibility to set the dwell time (one program step), as well as better regulation quality: absence (or minimization) of overshoot, fast and accurate temperature recovery when the oven door is frequently opened for reloading, etc.
The second model is the E5CC-T (E5AC-T), the programmable version of the E5CC with eight programs of up to 32 steps each! OMRON controllers also have 3 or 4 auxiliary outputs to provide an indication of program end, as well as various types of alarms and interlocks in various emergency situations (unacceptable temperature deviation, burnout of the heater, etc.).
